International Maritime Organisation (IMO) has decided that routine broadcasts of navigational warnings and meteorological forecasts will be made at scheduled times over a single nominated satellite for each NAVAREA/METAREA. Unscheduled broadcasts of SAR alert relays and severe weather warnings will be made over all satellites which serve the area concerned.
